Privacy Policy
The short version
- The apps you lock, your answers and your progress stay on your iPhone.
- There’s no account. We don’t ask for your name or email.
- Apple handles payments. RevenueCat checks whether you have MathScroll Pro.
- No ads, no tracking, and we don’t sell data.
This policy covers the MathScroll iPhone app, its widgets and extensions, and this website (together, “MathScroll”, “we” or “us”). If you have a question, email support@mathscroll.app.
What stays on your iPhone
MathScroll keeps the following on your device only. We don’t receive it.
- The apps, categories and websites you lock. MathScroll uses Apple’s Screen Time (Family Controls). Apple gives the app opaque tokens instead of app names, so even the app can’t read which apps you picked. Nobody else can either.
- Your onboarding answers, such as your goals and how much you scroll.
- Your progress: problems solved, accuracy, streaks, banked minutes and settings.
The app shares this data with its own widgets and Screen Time extensions through storage on your iPhone, so they can show your streak and lock your apps. It isn’t sent to us or anyone else. If you use iCloud or iTunes backups, Apple may include it in your device backup, under Apple’s privacy policy.
Purchases
Apple processes every payment. We never see your card details or your Apple Account details.
We use RevenueCat to check whether you have MathScroll Pro and to restore your purchases. When you open the paywall, buy, or restore, RevenueCat receives:
- your purchase and subscription history from Apple, including trials and renewals;
- a random ID that the app creates, which isn’t linked to your name or email;
- basic technical details, such as device model, iOS version, app version, language, country or region, and IP address.
We use this only to provide and support your purchase, and to understand which plans people choose. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
Updating the app’s questions
We use Firebase Remote Config (Google) to update the onboarding questions without shipping a new version of the app. When the app checks for updated questions, Google receives a random Firebase installation ID and basic technical details, such as app version, iOS version, language and IP address. Your answers aren’t sent; they stay on your iPhone. See Firebase’s privacy information.
Notifications
Streak reminders and “time’s almost up” alerts are scheduled on your iPhone. We don’t run a push notification server, and you can turn notifications off in iOS Settings at any time.
What we don’t do
- We don’t show ads or use advertising SDKs.
- We don’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we don’t use your device’s advertising identifier.
- We don’t sell or rent your data, or share it for advertising.
- We don’t currently use analytics SDKs in the app. If that changes, we’ll update this policy first.
This website
mathscroll.app is hosted by Cloudflare. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
Children
MathScroll isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. The app doesn’t ask for personal information from anyone.
How long data is kept, and deleting it
- On your iPhone: deleting MathScroll deletes its data from your device.
- Purchase records at RevenueCat are kept while they’re needed for your purchase, and for accounting and legal reasons. To ask us to delete them, email us your Apple order ID. You can find it at reportaproblem.apple.com, and it lets us find your record without an account.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including the EU, UK and California, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your personal data, or to object to how it’s used. Email support@mathscroll.app and we’ll help. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll also mention it in the app.
